In 2016, the historic Hessel School House opened as a nonprofit venue to enrich the community through educational programs, presentations, cultural events, art exhibits, writers workshops, and more. Visit our website for more information and to view the calendar for events and classes.
What We Do
Hessel School House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. The Avery Art & Nature Learning Center is focused on art and nature classes for all ages. Visit our outdoor Story Book Trail open spring through fall. The building is available to rent for your favorite event. The schoolhouse is host to the annual Aldo Leopold Festival which takes places every spring, after Memorial Day.
