For every 5 hours, volunteers receive 20% off in the shop or on a class.
Running the Desk in the Shop
Days / Times: Tuesday – Saturday, 11-4
Outline of Volunteer Tasks
• Greet people as they come in, let them know about the shop and current gallery
(information will be provided)
• Sell shop and gallery items
• Run the Point-of-Sale system
• Keep track of how many visitors we have that day
• Open / Close tills
Take Down / Hang Art Shows
Dates / time vary, needed about once per month
• 2-3 hours

Take down show
• Take artwork off the walls, organize in intake room
• Take nails out of walls
• Use ladder occasionally if comfortable
Hang up show
• Help with deciding where pieces go
• Use nail and hammer to hang pieces
• Use ladder occasionally if comfortable
Set Up, Greet, Take Down at Opening Receptions
Dates / time vary, needed about once per month
• 1 hour at beginning - set up / greet visitors (record headcount)
• 1 hour at the end – take down / clean up

• Food prep prior to opening• Greet visitors and record how many people come
• Clean up food, help vacuum, help with dishes
Weekly Cleaning
Once a week, flexible within Tuesday-Saturday 11-4
• 1 hour

Misc. Tasks
Every week is a new journey at the art center. We may need help reorganizing the shop,
cleaning out and organizing upstairs, or other opportunities in the future. I am happy to
communicate volunteer options as they come.
