Join as we disperse 450 backpacks stuffed with school supplies to children from PreSchool through 8th grade during our annual Project Backpack Carnival!
There will be bounce houses, food, games and activities, family resources and more with LOTS of opportunities to volunteer! Here's a glimpse of some of the areas we'll need help in:
Bounce House Attendants
6 volunteers are needed to be attendants at children's games and events. Supervise and maintain traffic on bounce houses and games from 11-1pm and help in tearing down. A fun attitude is appreciated.
Backpack Distribution
5-10 volunteers are needed to distribute backpacks in return for tickets. You will be dealing with a large number of people and will have to be quick on your toes. Estimated work time is 10am-2pm.
Registration
2 to 4 volunteers needed to register families as they arrive - this role requires legible handwriting or typing skillset with the ability to ask questions and log responses from a variety of guests. You will be dealing with a large number of people and will have to be quick on your toes with an eye for detail to ensure we're able to collect the information needed.
Ushers
4 volunteers are needed to help with miscellaneous items as well as direct traffic and help answer questions. You will be dealing with a large number of people and will have to be quick on your toes. Estimated work time is 10am-2pm.
Refreshments
2-4 volunteers are needed to help hand out refreshments to attendees. Estimated work time is 10am-2pm.
Exit Survey Table
4-6 volunteers are needed to collect surveys from participants leaving the event and offer free books and other items as an incentive for completing the survey. You will be dealing with a large number of people and will have to be quick on your toes with an eye for detail to ensure we're able to collect the information needed. Estimated work time is 11am - 1:30 pm.
Cleanup
4 volunteers needed after the event for cleanup and teardown. This will include picking trash up, carrying supplies to vehicles, assisting with wipe down of tables/chairs. A positive attitude is appreciated. Estimated work time is 1-2 p.m.
Volunteer attire is casual: jeans and t-shirt with comfortable shoes
