Event Time: 11a.m. to 1 p.m.
Volunteers are asked to check in at least 5 minutes prior to their shirt start time.
This is a large scale event, where pre-filled backpacks are distributed to between 300 and 600 pre-K through 8th grade students in Chippewa County.
In addition to the distribution, United Way, The Salvation Army - Sault Ste. Marie, and MI Dept of Health and Human Services partner together to create a fun, carnival atmosphere including bounce houses, games and other fun activities. We want to get Chippewa County students excited about going back to school while alleviating some of the financial burden and emotional stress some families go through as they try to outfit their child or children for back-to-school.

Set up begins at 8 a.m., event gates open at 11 a.m.
